There was serious dissatisfaction with the defense department in the Russian army. Other generals who criticized Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu were dismissed.

Internet Desk: There is serious opposition to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who is one of the main reasons for the Wagner Group’s coup in Russia. Senior General Ivan Popov criticized Shoigu’s betrayal some years ago. Shoigu’s mistake was not giving arms and ammunition to the soldiers of the defense department. With this, Shoigu issued orders to remove Ivan.

Ivan.. acted as the commander of the 58th Combined Arms Command of the Russian Army. Ivan was one of the most senior commanders who participated in the war in Ukraine. His team fought in Zaporizhia, where the nuclear power plant was located. During this time, Ukraine carried out fierce Shataghni attacks. At that time, Ivan’s team lacked ammunition for counter-attacks. Apart from this, there are no centers that can spy on the enemy forces. Due to this, a huge number of soldiers died in his group. He directly mentioned these matters to the highest military leadership in Russia. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu issued orders to remove him as he criticized the Kremlin. Ivan’s forces took part in the Battle of Ukraine centered on Berdyansk.

According to the Study of War organization, these incidents show the discontent within the Russian army. Ivan accused military chief Valery Gerasimov of wiping out the 58 Combined Army. The force played a key role in protecting Russian bases in Zaporizhia.

The trace of Surovikin is lost.

Russia’s most senior general, Sergei Surovikin, who is said to be an unofficial VIP member of the Wagner Group, has been missing for several days. He disappeared after Wagner’s coup last month. There is a rumor that he is being interrogated by Russian intelligence agencies. There are speculations that he already knew about the rebellion. During the mutiny, Surovikin urged Wagner’s troops to calm down in a video message. He was in charge of Surovikin for the Ukraine war until October last year.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that the mercenaries of Wagner’s forces have completed the process of handing over their weapons to the army. So far, more than 2,000 weapons like battle tanks, rocket launchers, heavy artillery, air defense systems, more than 20,000 guns and 2,500 metric tons of ammunition have been handed over.
