Bengaluru: Engineering student set on ablaze by uncle’s gang over relationship with relative succumbs to burn injuries

19-year-old engineering student who was allegedly set on fire by his relative over a row over love affair succumbed in Victoria hospital on Tuesday.

Shashank,resident of RR Nagar pursuing engineering at a private college was in relationship with his relative .

The father of the girl happened to be the uncle of Shashank,was angry and even warned him many times before.

Few days ago,the girl had visited Bengaluru and Shashank had taken her home.The family of the girl came to know about this went to the house created ruckus and took away the girl .

Agitated with Shashank, the family allegedly abducted him in in a SUV took him near an isolated place in Toll plaza , where they beat up and set him on fire before pouring petrol .

Shashank managed to put off the fire by rolling on the ground and called his friends for help.They reached the spot and shifted him to Victoria hospital in an Ambulance to treat for this third degree burn injuries .

Shashank gave a statement before the police what happened and named the uncle and others responsible.

The Kumbalagodu police based on his statement visited the scene of crime and recording all the evidence to corroborate with the statement of the victim.

The police have not made any arrest so far and investigating to ascertain the facts of the incidents.
