n elderly couple were bludgeoned to death by their younger son at their house in Byatarayanapura on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Shantha,60 and her husband Bhaskar,62 living with the two sons for the last two decades.
Senior officer told reporters the couple hailed from Mangaluru and shantha worked in ITI and recently retired while Bhaskar,used to work as cashier in a canteen.
While their elder son working in a private firm the younger one and suspect in the case identified as Sharath,26 was unemployed and alcoholic.
Probe revealed that Sharath used to have frequent fights with his parents and harass them.
The murder came to light when the elder son tried to reach the parents from his workplace but despite repeated attempt there was no response.
He later called his neighbour to check on them.The neighbours went to the house to find the duo lying in a pool of blood and sharath is missing.
The Kodigehalli police rushed to the spot and conducted a detailed probe,while efforts are on to track down the accused who is said to be on the run.
