Lokayukta officials on Tuesday trapped a gynaecologist working in Yelahanka General hospital for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.11,000 from the family of a 20-year-old patient to perform caeserian procedure .
Based on a tip off,a team of officials led by Pradeep Kumar, raided the hospital and caught Waheed,a ward boy red handed while he was accepting the bribe of behalf of the doctor.
Dr.Ramachandra was out of the hospital by the time the team reached the hospital However the officials confirmed his involvement and submitted a report to the Lokayukta .
Based on the report, a case against Dr. Ramachandra has been booked charging him under Prevention of Corruption Act and efforts are on track down the doctor who is presently on the run.
The Lokayukta is going to recommend the health department about the incident seeking strict action against the doctor involvement in corrupt practice.
