A battery attached to traffic signal in Ramamurthynagar has been stolen on Sunday.
The incident came to light when Babu,Y,traffic constable deployed for the first shift duty came to the spot and found the signal lights were not working.
He checked the junction box which was opened and the battery missing .
Mr.Babu informed his seniors before complaining it to the police.The cost of the battery estimated to be around Rs.5,000 .
The police have registered a case of theft and verifying the CCTV footage from in and around to identify the accused.
