A tip off received from the murder case accused helped Byappanahalli police to arrest a 37-year-old BE in electronics engineer turned notorious thief and recovered gold valuables worth Rs.29 lakh related two two theft cases reported five years ago.
The accused Mamani deena,native of Chennai and BE graduate in electronics,worked in a (Nokia) leading telecom company for few years until he was terminated from service for committing a fraud .
He soon joined a gang of habitual offenders and started house break thefts in Nellur,Hosur,Chennai and Bengaluru until he was arrested by HSR layout police in 2020 in a case related to theft and remanded to judicial custody.
Since then he was in central prison on Parappana Agrahara he become close to a murder case accused who was in his cell and boosted about his crime and gang.
After the fellow inmate was out on bail,he shared the details with the Baiyyapanahalli police.Armed with the information,police Inspector,Prashanth M,and team swung into action and took the accused into custody and recovered 512 grams of gold valuables from him.
