our people including two students of the Siddaganga Mutt and a woman were drowned in a Gokatte lake at Siddaganga Mutt premises in Kyatsandra while trying to save the boy who was drowning in the lake.
While the boy managed to reach the shore the other four including his mother,two friends and another man drowned .
While the police managed to recover the bodies of Lakshmi,33,and Harshith,a sixth standard student and classmates of the Rakshith,the search operations by fire and emergency services are still on to track down Shankar and Mahadevappa,40 .
Senior officer told reporters,The deceased Lakshmi resident of Bagalagunte along with her daughter had come to see Rakshinth who is studying 6th standard in the mutt.
Rakshith along with his family and two friends went near Gokatte where they climbed up tree took selfie and played for sometime.
Meanwhile Rakshith ventured into the tank to clean up as he had dirt in the legs and started drowning.Sensing this his two friends Harshith and Shankar rushed to his help and began to drown and shouted for help.
Lakshmi and another parents identified as Mahadevappa jumped into the lake to save the three boys but began to drown while Rakshith was saved,the four drowned .
The others noticing this,alerted the Mutt administration and the police,who rushed to the spot along with fire and emergency service personnel to search for the bodies .
Senior officials led by Superintendent of police,Rahul Kumar Shahpurwad,supervising the investigations.
