tudent of a Christ college sustained burin injuries after an wires from the broken electric pole fell on her after a freak accident in Sudduguntepalya on Tuesday.
The victim identified as Priya was returning walking at the backside of the college when a concrete mixture truck passing by pulled the dangling internet cables down.
Meanwhile the water tanker passing on the same directions pulled away the dangled wires so hard that the electric pole broke snapping all the wires down.
This led to short circuit and a fire and one of the wire fell on the student and she sustained burn injuries.
The police rushed to the spot and alerted the BESCOM officials to disconnect the power supply to present further damages.
The student was later taken to the St.Johns hospital where she is being treated and said to be out of danger.
It as narrow escape for the people walking on the road. If the live wires fallen on the people the damage could have been more,a senior officer, said.
The police said that haphazard internet cables and movement of heavy vehicles carrying essentials are the reason behind the mishap.
The Police are awaiting to record the statement of the victim while initiate action against the internet cable companies and the water tanker driver.
