The Ashoknagar police raided a hotel on residency road and arrested a manager and a woman from Philippines part of the prostitution racket.
Senior officer told reporters,Based on a tip off,a team of police raided the hotel and rescued the woman on Thursday evening,who claimed that she had come to city on Tourist Visa and stayed in a hotel for few days.
Since she is in need of money,the accused manager identified as Chandrashekhar lured her into sex trade in return of free stay,food and other expenses .
Since then the victim was entertaining the clients the accused was sending to her room,she told the police.
Based on her statement, the police arrested the accused and sealed the hotel (Octeve Suites) for further investigations.
R Srinivas Gowda,DCP,Central division,said that the police have launched a special drive against the PUBS and commercial establishment violating deadline in the CBD area on Friday .
As many as 20 cases have been registered for various violations including violating 1am deadline under KP act.
The police have also registered public nuisance against pedestrians causing discomfort to others including one case against transgenders for public nuisance .
