Saree thieves gang struck again this time targeted Lahiri silk and sarees shop in Electronic city and made away with 10 silk sarees worth Rs.1.5 lakh on Friday.
The accused including a man and two women walked into the shop posing as prospective customers and started checking many sarees saying that the shopping is for the wedding .
While one of the two women kept the sales girl Padma busy,the other one slide 5 expensive silk sarees into her specially designed salwar suit and walked out casually. Minutes later she walked in and and repeated the act before walking out finally .
The theft came to light when the staff found many sarees are missing and checked the CCTV footage to find the trio walking away with the stolen sarees .
The Electronic city police have taken up a case and are investigating.We have some clues and working on it to track down the accused,a senior officer,said .
It may be recalled that the High grounds police busted caught a six-member gang that was stealing silk sarees from showrooms posing as prospective customers.
The gang had stolen silk sarees from shops in cubbon park, High grounds and Ashoknagar police station limits worth Rs.10 lakh.
