The South Cyber Crime Police are on the lookout for a girl who lured a 30-year-old engineer offering escort service and later posing as police officer robbed Rs.1 .1 lakh from him in the hotel in BTM Layout on Sunday.
The victim Nikhil J,working in a private firm and resident of Padmanabhanagar was browsing a escort website (Massagerepublic.com) and spoke to a girl identified herself as Shivani.
The accused offered the service for Rs.6,000 and asked him to book a hotel in BTM layout and send her the location.
Excited NIkhil booked the room,checked in and sent her the detail. Few minutes later the accused came to the room and demanded Rs.10,000 in advance and also 1,000 for the taxi fare .
As soon as the amount was transferred the accused told Nikhil that she is a police officer and she is going to book him under prostitution.
She even made a call to her associate who in turn called Nikhil and demanded Rs.1 lakh for not arresting him.Scared Nikhil transfered the amount and the girl left him immediately .
After coming out of the hotel room,Nikhil realized that he has been cheated and reached Madiwala police.
Since the case was related to cyber crime,he was advised to approach the cyber crime police in south division.
The cyber crime of South Division police have registered a case on Monday under IT act and also under cheating and extortion. The police are now trying to track down the accused through the transaction details .
