Due to excessive rains and lack of rains in the state, there were setbacks in the cultivation of crops. While the month of June started with lack of rain, heavy rains and floods in July temporarily hindered the cultivation. But as the water resources were filled to a great extent, the cultivation of crops started. Varinat is currently being completed. Other crops are in seedling stage. Even though rains are urgently needed at this time, there was a lack of rain in August and there was concern among rice farmers. Hyderabad Meteorological Center’s latest announcement that heavy rains will fall from the beginning of September has become hopeful. The Meteorological Department has announced that there will be thunder and lightening rains across the state from the 2nd (Saturday). Adilabad, Kumuram Bhim, Manchiryala, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Janagama, Siddipet, Yadadri and other districts are expected to receive heavy rains, so the farmers are hoping for this month.

During the season…

If we analyze the season of the last three months, 43 days out of 92 days have rained. Rainfall was 642.5 mm (12 percent higher) out of a total of 579.9 mm. Although numerically it appears to be high.. except for one month of heavy rains.. lack of systematic rainfall is the deficit. So far 13 districts – Yadadri, Karimnagar, Warangal, Jagityala, Hanumakonda, Janagama, Peddapalli, Bhupalapalli, Vikarabad, Rajanna Sirisilla, Nizamabad, Medak and Nirmal districts have received heavy rainfall. Nalgonda, Peddapalli, Khammam, Suryapet, Manchiryala, Kumurabhim, Bhadradri, Mulugu, Gadwala, Mahabubnagar, Hyderabad, Kamareddy, Vanaparthi, Mahabubabad, Adilabad, Rangareddy, Narayanapet, Sangareddy and Medchal districts received normal rainfall. 72.6 (44 per cent shortfall) mm to 129.4 mm in June. It rained. 489.9 mm as against 229.1 mm in the month of July. (114 percent higher) rained. 80 mm as against 217.4 mm in August. (63 percent deficit) was recorded.

District wise…

In the last three months, 15 percent rainfall was recorded in Khammam district, 14 percent in Nalgonda, 13 percent in Suryapet and five percent in Jogulamba gadwals. Hyderabad has received the least amount of rain on 22 days. It rained on 25 days in Nagarkurnool, 26 in Rangareddy, 27 in Vanaparthi, 28 in Mahabubnagar, 29 in Yadadri and Vikarabad. Mulugu district recorded maximum rainfall for 47 days. It rained for 45 days in Bhadradri district and 42 days in Adilabad. Out of 612 mandals in the state, 19 places received maximum rain, 228 mandals received excessive rain, and 302 mandals received normal rain. Deficit rainfall was recorded in 63 mandals.
