Four member gang booked for abducting businessman and demanding ransom to release

A 32-year-old businessman was abducted in a car, taken to Denkanikottai in Tamilnadu and tortured by a his four friends demanding ransom of Rs.20 lakh on Thursday.

The Victim,Sandeep Kumar,managed to escape from them and with the help of local police reached the city and filed a complaint with the CK Acchukattu police .

The police have registered a case of kidnap,assault and criminal intimidation against the accused and efforts are on to track them down.

The victim,was known to the accused who came and picked him up from his house at around 2.30 am on the pretext of taking him for Tea.

The accused however took detour and drove to Denkanikote before snatching his mobile and throwing the SIM card out of the window.

The victim raised objections for which the accused started assaulting him and demanded that he should arrange Rs.50 lakh.

The accused Kiran Kumar told Sandeep that he was desperately in need of money to clear criminal cases pending against him.

When the victim expressed his helplessness to arrange such a big amount,the accused settle down the amount to Rs.20 lakh.

The accused took Sandeep to a farmhouse near Denkanikottai and tortured him for several hours demanding to arrange the money.

While the accused was busy,the victim managed to escape and approached the local police for help.With their help,the victim reached the city and filed a complaint.

Initial probe revealed that there was a financial dealing between the accused and the victim and that could be one of reason for the abduction.

The police have launched a manhunt to track down the accused who are presently on the run.
