Andhra Pradesh Bandh: The ongoing bandh across the state is against Chandrababu’s arrest

The bandh continues in AP in protest against the arrest and remand of TDP chief and former CM Chandrababu in a case registered by the CID that he was involved in corruption in the matter of setting up skill development centers during the previous government’s regime.

 

 

Amaravati: Bandh continues in AP to protest the arrest of TDP chief and former CM Chandrababu. The TDP ranks have taken up protests and agitations at bus depots and main intersections across the state. The activists who tried to block the buses are being detained by the police. Janasena, CPI, Loksatta and MRPS have expressed their support for the TDP bandh. Holidays have been declared for many private schools. Earlier, TDP leaders were placed under house arrest by the police.

Chief leaders’ house arrest

In Jaggayapet town, TDEPA district president Nettem Raghuram, former MLA Sriram Tathaiah and other key leaders in Vatsavai and Penuganchiprolu mandal centers were placed under house arrest by the police. Police stopped TDP workers in Mylavaram. A dharna was organized under the leadership of Tedepa and Janasena in the village of Vijayawada rural. Buddha Venkanna, who was agitating at Onetown Ratham Center in Vijayawada, was detained by the police. Police put former MLA Tangirala Soumya under house arrest in Nandigama.

TDP women activists staged a protest in Dharmavaram of Sathya Sai district. The police lathi-charged TDP women workers who participated in the protest. Glass broke and many people were injured.

The CI who pushed the MLA sustained minor injuries

At Vijayawada bus stand under the leadership of MLA Gadde Rammohan, TDP activists took up agitation. Buses were stopped from coming out of the bus stand. The protestors were arrested by the police and taken to the station. In this order, MLA Gadde Rammohan fell due to Krishna Lanka CI’s push. He suffered minor injuries.
