he Jayanagar police are on the lookout for two women who posing as office assistant of Author and philanthropist and chairperson of Infosys foundation, Sudha Murthy and selling tickets in USD,for a program claiming Sudha murthy was chief guest.
Based on the complaint filed by Mamata Sanjay, executive secretary of Sudha Murthy, the Jayanagar police charged the two accused identified as Lavanya and Shruthi,charging them under IT act and also under cheating and impersonation.
The accused according to the complaint,posing as members of Kannada Koota of Northen California ( KKNC) invited Ms.Murthy for the 50th anniversary program to be held in California.Ms.Sudha denied with a regret citing reasons.
However the accused in April 30,continue to advertise on social media with the photograph of Ms.Murthy that she is going to be the chief guest.
When the office contacted the organizer,the accused Lavanya claimed to be the personal assistant , confirmed the program and said that she had confirmed her presence through a VC call in the first week of August.
Lavanya according to the complaint is not only misrepresenting the facts,but also tarnishing the image of Ms.Murthy claiming to be office staff of Murthy ‘s trust”.
Further inquiries revealed that the accused had also advertised about another program in the name of “ Meet & Greet with Dr.Sudha Murthy”at Sewa milpitas USA and selling ticket for a price of 40 USD in collusion with Shruthi.
This is to cheat gullible people and made money misusing the name of Ms.Sudha Mutrthy,the complainant said seeking legal action.
