A gang of five men attacked election officers and escaped after robbing ballet papers and a laptop near Hosapalya on Magadi Kunigal road on Wednesday morning.
The victims are heading to Hullinahalli village milk producers association election when the gang confronted the car carrying the officials and demanded the Ids.
After confirming that the officials are heading to conduct the elections, the accused robbed the bag containing ballet papers and other material meant for elections and escaped.
The officials identified as Umesh and Usha sustained injuries when they tried to resist.Passers-by rushed to the help but the accused managed to escaped in the car they had come.The entire incident was recorded in a mobile phone of one of the person witnessed the attack.
Following the attack the election was suspended and the Magadi police have registered case of robbery and efforts are on to track down the accused.
The attack was to disrupt the election process due to political rivalry between two groups,a police officer, said .
