It is unhealthy to have a grand wedding using borrowed money.Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called to stop availing agricultural loans and using it for weddings.
He was speaking at a mass marriage organized by the Shri Malai Mahadeswaraswamy development authority today.
Lavish weddings are a huge burden for the poor and the middle class.You have to pay the debt for the rest of your life.Therefore,simple and collective marriages should be more and more common,he said.
Mahadeshwara hill is a sacred place of spiritual significance, a spiritual center for Shudras,working class,poor and all other castes.This is why I have the utmost respect and devotion to this temple.
When I first became the Chief Minister I created the Malai Mahadeshwar Development Authority.Now the revenue of the authority has also increased.
He appreciated that as a result of the Shakti scheme, devotees,especially women devotees,are coming in large numbers and having darshan of Malai Madeshwara.
The chief minister made an important announcement that the image of Malai Mahadeshwara region will be changed in the next five years and instructed the officials of the authority to give more priority to drinking water and cleanliness.
The name of the Rashtrapathi Bhavan which is in the premisea of Malai Mahadeshwara hills is changed. Hence forth it will be called Tapovana. So we have to call it Tapovana. The CM said that it has been renamed as per the suggestion of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji
Hanur MLA M.R.Manjunath presided over the programme held in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Shivratri Desikendra Mahaswamy and Sri Pattada Guruswamy, Sri Sri Shantamallikarjuna Swami.Animal Husbandry Minister K.Venkatesh, Social Welfare Minister H.C Mahadevappa,Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy along with MLAs and leaders of the district were present.
