he birthday celebration turned tragic as five people , including four children, sustained severe burn injuries after a ‘helium’ balloon they were carrying came in contact with an electric wire and exploded followed by fire during a birthday party at a house in Belathur in Kadugodi on Saturday night.
The injured have been identified as Vijay Aditya Kumar, 44,employee with HAL,his son,Dhyan chanda,7,a class 1 student at a private school,Ishan Lokesh,2,Sanjay shivakumar,8,a class 3 student at BEML school at KGF and Sohila,3,son of Vijay Aditya Kumar .
Senior officer told reporters,the incident took place at Vijay Kumar’s residence in Belathur, KR Puram at 9.30 pm when the kids had assembled at Vijay’s house to celebrate his daughter’s birthday.
While the birthday girl daughter went to drink milk, children were walking on the stairs with the gas filled ballons from terrace into the house exploded upon coming in contact with the live electric wire passing close to the house .
The neighbours rushed the injured to a nearby hospital from there shifted to Victoria hospital where they are being treated at burn’s ward.
The Kadugodi police rushed to the spot and conducted the investigation.
We have taken up case based on the complainant statement and further investigations are on he added.
