A Cracker godown was gutted and some shops and nine vehicles parked adjacent to it damaged when an accidental fire broke out at the fire crackers which started bursting .
The crackers worth crores were stored at the godown for the upcoming Deepavali festival,which came in contact with the fire and started exploding,people ran out to take shelter before the fire spread and forming a thik smoke and fire.
Nine fire tenders were pressed into service who are struggling to put out the fire.
The Attibele police are providing security cover and to ascertain anyone injured in the accident .
Panic gripped in Attibele area among the motorists as fire crackers godown exploded in fire followed by thick smoke engulfed the area following a accidental fire broke out in Attibele fire cracker godown area of Hosur Karnataka state border, was during handling firecrackers, the police, said .
Naveen,who runs a firecracker shop in Athipalli area of Karnataka state,when he along with his staff was loading firecracker boxes from a container vehicle to his firecracker shop, the firecrackers unexpectedly burst into flames.
Following the information,nine fire engines reached the spot and tried to put out the fire, but the firecrackers spread all over the shop, leaving smoke in the air.
Police stopped the traffic to prevent further damage and any untoward incidents as incident took place on the side of the national highway.
After controlling the fire, it will be known if there is any loss of life. a police officer said.
