The Halasurgate police have arrested a 24-year-old youth who had cheated many unemployed youth promising marshal jobs in BBMP.
The accused has been identified as Harsha,resident of Jambusavari Dinne in JP Nagar was working as contract employee in BBMP war room during covid time.
After the contract was over he was unemployed and found the easy way to make quick money.
Posing to have high contacts in BBMP office,Harsha offered marshal jobs and taken Rs.3000 from over 200 gullible aspirants through UPI payment and issued them fake appointment letters.
The fraud came to light when one of the victim, Sandeep L,went to BBMP office with the appointment letter and realized it was fake before approaching the police on October 3.
Based on the complaint,the police track down Harsha and recovered Rs.6 lakh from him.
