The Madanayakanahalli police on tuesday cracked a murder case and arrested 22-year-old factory employee and his friend for abduction and murder of his colleague over trivial row over girl .
Senior officer told reporters,The accused Pratap,23,and his associate Manjunath, 23 were arrested based on the CCTV footage recovered from Nagasandra metro station from where the duo had forcibly took the victim on their bike on the pretext of talk .
He further said the deceased Lokesh hailed from Davanagere and completed diploma course joined a factory in Peenya to work.He met a girl working in the same factory and soon they become close .
The girl was reportedly childhood friend of the accused Pratap and both were in relationship.Pratap when got to know that newly joined Lokesh is getting close to his girl friend,the duo had a fight and Pratap warned him to stay away.
When Lokesh ignored his warning,Pratap with the help of his friend Manjunath decided to teach him a lesson.
On October 5 when Lokesh was returning home from work,Pratap and Manjunath followed him on their bike and confronted him near Nagasandra metro station.
The duo forced Lokesh to get in the bike on the pretext of talk.This was captured in one of the CCTV which later helped police to crack the case.The accused took Lokesh to the outskirt of the city and killed him before returning home.
When Lokesh did not return home even after two days, his uncle filed a missing complaint with the Bagalagunte police and provided physical discreption of Lokesh .
Meanwhile Madanayakanahalli police recovered highly decomposed unidentified man’s body in Kukkanahalli village farm land belonging to Yallappa.
The police summoned Lokesh uncle to verify the body and confirmed that it was Lokesh.The police initiated investigations into Lokesh background and found that Lokesh had a fight with Pratap over girl issue and was last seen at Nagasandra Metro station.
The police recovered the CCTV footage from in and around and found that Lokesh was forcibly taken by Pratap and his friend.Based on this,Pratap was picked up for questioning and he confessed to the crime.
