n what could be the blot to the state police the Hassan police arrested inspector attached with ISD in not only in an attempt to kidnap case but also found his nexus in underworld operatives.
The arrested have been identified as R.Sathish (38),C. Murugan (37),R.Madhusudhan (38),B.S.Tejaswi (37) and Arvind (40).J Ashok,another arrested accused,is attached to Internal Security Division (ISD) in Kolar district.
The accused Ashok was charged with attempt to kidnap ashwath Narayana gowda who is close associate of JDS leader HD Revanna.
The accused Ashok was also conspiracies in many criminal cases including conspiracy to murder kannada film producer umapathy.Ashok has linked established by police with gangster Bombay Ravi.
Even Rowdy Sheeter Shanti arrested in umapathy murder conspiracy case has put out a birthday wish to Ashok on his social media account.
Ashok using this gang was involved in extortion . Interest rackets.Ashok used to recee for the gang using state machinery and pass it on to the gang even though he was blatantly running the racket and having nexus with the gangsters,it is surprising that State Home Department failed to keep a tab.
Senior officer told reporters team led by Hassan SP, Mohammad Sujitha arrested all the six and during the investigation the role of police inspector Ashok had emerged.Upon sustained interrogation,he disclosed the role of other gang members who were also nabbed.
Two other accused will also be arrested said a senior officer.
On October 10, the victim was going back in his vehicle after meeting Revanna towards Channarayapatna at about 8 p.m.
When he reached near the Sooranahalli village of Holenarasipura taluk, the accused gang attacked Ashwatha but he managed to escape.
The probe had revealed that the gang was involved in kidnapping the rich and extorting huge money for their release later.
An investigation into the involvement of the gang in other cases is on.
The police have seized three luxury cars and eight mobiles in connection with the case.
