Former ZP President Murder case cracked by Kolar police six arrested

In a swift action,the Kolar police on Tuesday arrested a gang of six who hacked a 62-year-old congress party leader and former ZP President in the outskirt of Srivinsapura town on Monday.

The police open fire at two accused identified as Venugopal,Munindra,Santosh,when they attacked the police team in a bid to escape while being escorted to the station at Lakshisagar forest area where the accused were arrested on Tuesday.

Senior officer told reporters Vemagal station Inspector , Venkatesh and his staff Manjunath and Nagesh were also injured and were admitted to Kolar district hospital along with the accused for treatment.

The deceased M.Srinivasan,was hacked to death by a group of armed men while he went to inspect a construction site at Hogalagere in the outskirt of Srinivasapura town on Monday.

The severely injured Srinivasan was rushed to Jalappa hospital in Kolar where he succumbed.He was close to Home Minister G Parameshwara and is a close aide of former Karnataka Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar.

Mr.Parameshwar visited the hospital on Monday and assured amidst protest that accused would be arrested soon.

The murder for the motive is said to be old rivalry,the police are probing to ascertain the exact reason behind the murder.
