Pub brawl:ASI booked for attacking 2 with machete after nephew brands them ‘thieves’

he Vijayanagar police on Friday registered a case of assault against Assistant Sub Inspector for attacking two men with a chopper over trivial row over drunken brawl on Wednesday night .

Based on the complaint by one of the victim identified as L Dayananda,the Vijayanagar police booked Srinivasa,attached to Magadi road police station and his relative Ananda charging them under section 324 ( Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means).

Dayanana,a private firm employee and resident of Bapujinagar along with his friend Shashidhar went to a bar to consume alcohol.

A man later identified as Anand started shouting at them and hurled abuses at them without any provocation.

Heated arguments ensued when they objected to his behavior,for which Anand challenged them to come to his area.

The duo agreed and boarded his autorickshaw as soon as the autorickshaw reached 6th main , RPC layout, Anand started shouting thief thief and Srinivasa walked out of the house armed with chopper and lathi and attacked the duo beating them black and blue.

Neighbours hearing the commotion alerted the control room and Hoysala patrolling vehicle reached the spot and rushed the injured victims to hospital for treatment.

The entire incident of attack was recorded on a CCTV camera and residents blamed Srinivasa and his family for behaving in unruly manner.
