The Jagan government has intensified the harassment of TDP chief Chandrababu. Another case was recently filed against him as part of the party’s efforts.
Another step in the party’s achievements is the complaint of Beverages Corporation MD Vasudevareddy
alleging that liquor companies were given undue benefits . CID case against the then Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra .
The Jagan government has intensified the harassment of TE Depa chief Chandrababu. Another case was recently filed against him as part of the party’s efforts. Since Jagan’s assumption of power, since the last four and a half years, a scam of thousands of crores of rupees has been going on in the liquor business, the Jagan government has filed a case alleging that something happened during the previous TDP government’s regime. For the past four years, all the opposition parties, including TDP and Janasena, have been making large-scale allegations against Jagan’s government’s liquor policy. They are criticizing that they are messing with people’s lives by selling substandard liquor brands and robbing them heavily by eliminating online transactions. BJP’s AP President Daggubati Purandeshwari has recently asked the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to conduct a comprehensive investigation with the CBI against CM Jagan and his followers to the tune of Rs.25 thousand crores annually. All the loopholes in Jagan government’s liquor business are being exposed one after another. If the actual situation is like this, the Jagan government’s case against Chandrababu is being criticized as ‘thief..thief’.
On Vasudeva Reddy’s complaint… a case was registered
The CID recently registered a case against Chandrababu along with the then Excise Commissioner I.Srinivasa Srinaresh and the then Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra on the basis of a complaint filed by Beverages Corporation (APSBCL) MD D. Vasudevareddy alleging that during the previous government’s regime, many liquor companies and suppliers took favorable decisions and gave them undue benefits. . Chandrababu has been named as the third accused (A3), Srinivasa Srinaresh as the main accused (A1) and Kollu Ravindra as the second accused (A2). 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act read with 13(1) of Public Servant. 2) A case was registered under Sec. While Vasudeva Reddy filed a complaint on 11th of this month, a case was registered in CID on 28th. The CID officials submitted the FIR to the ACB court in Vijayawada on Monday.
Series of illegal cases
After Chandrababu’s arrest in the skill development case, the CID filed PT warrants against him in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road and Fiber Net cases. A petition was filed in the High Court seeking permission to reopen the case related to the Amaravati Assigned Lands case. Recently, another case has been brought to the fore. Criticisms are being expressed that the Jagan government has opened a series of illegal cases with the conspiracy to prevent Chandrababu, who is currently on judicial remand in the skill development case, from being released from jail. It is noteworthy that the TDP leader and former minister Kollu Ravindra has also been active in the party and has been fighting against government irregularities for some time, and a case has been registered against him.
The main allegations in the FIR are..
- The previous government took decisions to reduce the revenue of the government and benefit the licensees. After the general election notification on March 8, 2019 some new brands were allowed. Liquor suppliers and licensees colluded to create artificial demand for certain types of products. Some companies were given orders without matching their market share. 70 percent of the orders went to them. A deep investigation is needed to unearth this conspiracy.
- In the liquor policy for the year 2015-17, the privilege fee for liquor shops has been removed to benefit the licensees. It does not take into account the loss to the government.
- The government has proposed a special excise scheme for bars for the year 2015-16. Privilege fee has also been canceled for bars. Those decisions were taken with the approval of the then Chief Minister and Excise Minister. All this was done against the rules. There is no permission from the Ministry of Finance and the Council of Ministers. These decisions caused a loss of Rs.1,300 crores to the state exchequer.
- SPY Agro Industries in Nandyala was given unfair advantage by the previous government. The facility of paying the license fee in installments has been provided. Waiver of interest payable on arrears. As a result, the government suffered a loss of up to Rs.15 crores. SPY Agro promoter SPY Reddy was the MP of Nandyala at that time.
- Against the recommendations of the excise department committee, various distilleries were allowed to be set up. Along with PMK Distilleries and Visakha Distilleries, three others were given the benefit. After the release of the 2019 general election notification, many brands were allowed in a hurry.
Isn’t this the real scandal Jagan?
Jagan , who had campaigned before the elections that he would implement the ban on liquor, after coming to power, the government brought in the system of selling liquor and handed over the entire business to the Asmads at a cost of Rs. Crores are being looted. There are criticisms that Andhra Pradesh Beverages Corporation (APSBCL) is buying liquor from companies that are paying commission to government officials. In this calculation, how much has gone back in these five years? While there are around 100 companies registered with APSBCL, it is not a scandal that only 16 companies are paying commissions to ruling party leaders and government officials.
- In the FIR, the CID stated that SPY Agro Industries in Nandyal was given undue benefit by the previous government. Is it not a scam that the son of the leader who is the number 2 in the government took over that company immediately after Vaikapa came to power and that APSBCL bought liquor worth Rs 1,863 crore in two years?
- CID said that PMK Distilleries and Visakha Distilleries were benefited by the previous government. But after Vaikapa came to power, these two distilleries were taken over by the main leaders of that party. Adan Distilleries sub-leased them.
- Isn’t it robbing the people by trampling on the promise of prohibition, making only inferior brands available and increasing the prices?
- In AP, where there are 2,934 liquor shops, the real scandal is that Vaikapa leaders and their henchmen are robbing the people, who have kept the entire business in their hands. The opposition is criticizing that false cases are being made as if something happened during the previous government’s regime to divert attention from it.
