Karnataka Lokayukta sleuths raid 17 officers accused of amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 38 cr

I n one of the major crackdown,the Lokayukta officials on Monday raided the offices and residential premises of 17 government officials across the state and searched for their disproportionate assets which were known to their sources of income.

Several teams of officials searched over 70 locations belonging to the 17 government officials including 11 places in Bengaluru and recovered huge amount of cash,gold,immovable properties,luxury vehicles, investment in land,stocks and expensive gadgets were detected.

Several teams of Lokayukta police assisted by the jurisdictional police carried out the search.The seized valuables are being verified further.

According to the officials,raids and search operations were carried out in Bengaluru City,Tumakuru,Mandya, Chitradurga,Haveri,Hassan,Ballari,Raichur,Kalaburagi, Belagavi,Koppal,and Udupi.

These simultaneous searches will be included the residences,offices,and relatives’residences of the accused government officers,totaling more than 69 locations.

These searches will uncover significant information regarding their acquisition of disproportionate assets”, a senior official with the Lokayukta,said .

Chandrappa K B,BBMP Assistant Revenue Officer, Hegganahalli Sub-Division,Dasarahalli Zone and Srinivas S R,Deputy Director,Boilers and Factories, Davanagere and Incharge of Mysore and Shivamoga are among the 17 government officials have been booked under Disproportionate Assets case by Lokayukta officials in a state wide raid carried on over 70 locations across the state on Monday.

The Lokayukta officials searched three places belonging to Chandrappa,and found Immovable Assets worth Rs.2.15 crore which according to an estimation o 156 percent Disproportionate to his known source of income.

Similarly the officials searched 10 places owned by Srinivas S R and recovered total value of movable and immovable assets worth Rs.2.8 Crore which is 290 per cent disproportionate assets.

The other officials booked under DA case and valuables seized includes :

M P Nagendra Naika,ACF, Incharge DCF,Forest Department,Chitradurga, searched three places and recovered Rs.1.88 crore worth movable and immovable properties,which according to the Lokayukta estimation is 201.02 percent disproportionate to his known source of income.

V Krishnamurthy,Assistant Director Grade-1,Social Welfare office,Chitradurga,searched two places and recovered assets including movable and immovable properties total worth Rs.1.6 core which is 214 percent disproportionate to his known source of income.

M.Nagendrappa,Assistant Engineer,PRED sub Division, Sira Taluk,Tumakuru searched five places and recovered a total assets including movable and immovable worth Rs.2.61 crore,which is 220 per cent disproportionate to his known source of income.

Sharanappa Patted,Project Director,Nirmithi Kendra, Shakthinagara,Raichur:The Lokayukta officials searched five places belonging to Sharanappa and recovered a total Value of properties seized including movable and immovable : Rs.2.30 crore,which is 126 per cent disproportionate Assets estimated.

K.Manjunath,Revenue Officer,Tahashildar Office,Ballari : The officials searched three 3 places of the accused and recovered a sum of Rs.30.79 Lakhs worth movable and immovable properties which is 122 per cent disproportionate assets .

H Rajesh,Assistant Commissioner,Commercial Tax Dept, Udupi:The officials searched three places belonging to him and recovered a total amount of movable and immovable properties worth Rs.2.10 crore.The seized value according to the officials are 143.6 per cent disproportionate .

N P Balaraju,Chief Engineer,Karnataka Slum Board, Bengaluru: The officials searched four places belonging to the accused in Mandya and recovered a total amount of Rs.1.2 crore which is 254 per cent disproportionate .

Shashikumar T M, Executive Engineer,Town Planning, Presently KIADB,Bengaluru.:Officials searched two places of the accused and recovered assets worth Rs.6.6 crore which includes movable and immovable. The seized value according to the officials is 322 per cent disproportionate to his known source of income.

Tippangouda Annadani,Executive Engineer,KBJNL (Awaiting Posting): officials searched four places and recovered a total assets worth Rs.2.14 crore which according to the officials are 161 per cent disproportionate.

Basavaraj,Range Forest Officer, Bidar: Officials raided four places belonged to him and recovered a total worth 2.4 crore worth movable and immovable properties.This is according to the officials is 155.8 per cent disproportionate to his known source of income.

Appasaheb Sidling @ Siddaling Kamble,Joint Director, Urban and Rural Planning Department, Divisional Office, Kalburgi: Officials raided six places of the accused and recovered a total assets worth 1.8 crore which is 71.7 per cent disproportionate.

Mahadev Sannappa Biradar Patil,Assistant Executive Engineer,Taluk Panchayath Kalaburagi: Officials raided three places belonged to him and recovered a total assets worth 2.3 crore which according to the officials is 60 per cent disproportionate .

Narayana,Junior Engineer, KPTCL,Gorur, Hassan: Officials raided two of his places and recovered a total assets worth 1.4 crore which estimated to be around 88 per cent disproportionate to his known source of income.

Parameshwarappa Hanumanthappa Pelannavar,RFO, Aranya Jalanayana Adhikari,office of the Joint Director Agriculture, Haveri:The officials raided seven places belonging to the accused and recovered a total assets worth 2.3 crore which is 170 per cent disproportionate.

Mahanthesh Sadanand Nyamathi,Range Forest Officer, Haveri: officials searched three places and recovered a total 1.5 crore worth movable and immovable assets . This is 98.7 percent disproportionate to his know source of income.
