Chikkaballapur Railway Police head constable and 1 other arrested for stealing with a thief on trains in Karnataka

Investigating a theft case reported in cantonment station,the Railway police not only arrested a 38-year-old habitual offender but also pin down his associate who turned out to be a Head constable .

The accused head constable identified as Siddarama Reddy from Chikkaballapura railway station used to move around with the habitual offender Sabanna,38,on trains and the later would steal valuables from the passengers on train,while Reddy would give him the back up in case of any eventualities .

The accused would then shared the cash and gold valuables among themselves,while dumping the laptop, bags and mobile phones in the bushes along the railway track.

The accused would discard mobile phones and laptops fearing that they would get caught someday.

Using the modus operendi,Sabanna had stolen a bag containing valuables worth Rs.10 lakh from Usha Srikumar who was travelling from Trissur to Bengaluru and jumped from the moving train on August 23.

Based on the complaint the Cantonment police stepped up the vigil and managed to caught Sabanna who was moving suspiciously in KR Puram railway station to look for the targets.

Based on a detailed questioning he confessed to the crime and also spilled the beans about Reddy.

Superintendent of Police (Railways)Dr.SK Soumyalatha, suspended the head constable Reddy pending inquiry while four theft cases registered against the duo for further investigations.

In October 2022,Mahendra Gowda,head constable attached to the Chandra Layout Police Station in Bengaluru,was arrested for stealing Rs.10 lakh from a businessman .

in October 2023, Police constable Yellappa attached with Kempegowda International Airport police station has been suspended for committing series of house break thefts

Finally DIG Railways,Dr.SD Sharanappa,has appreciated SP,Railways,Dr.Soumyalatha SK,DYSP,Ravikumar,CPI,MN Ravishankar,PSIs,as,MG Nataraj,N Vijay Kumar,and staff as,Rajashekhar H,S Manjunath,P Krishnamurthy,Achuth M and others has been appreciated for the exemplary and meticulous investigation done by the team in nabbing the Chikkaballapur Railway police head constable by Bengaluru Dandu railway police a special reward will be given to whole team he added.
