A 52 year old inmate of a de-addiction centre was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the centre in Lakshmipura in Madanayakanahalli on Sunday.
The deceased Palaniswany from Mavalli was found dead while sleeping and family accused the staff torture led to his death.
According to the police,the deceased was an alcoholic and his family admitted him to the centre 12 days ago and even laid 15,000 towards the fee.
The family said that staff cited deteriorated health led to his death but they found injury marks all over his bodies looks like he has been beaten up.
The Madanayakanahalli police have taken up a case and awaiting post mortem report to ascertain the cause of death.
