The KR Puram police are on the lookout for a rowdy and his associates for abducting a city based civil contractor for 12 days in a lodge for ransom.
The accused kidnapped Murali,from Sanjaynagar who had borrowed Rs.60 lakh loan from his friend for his business commitments.
The accused Anand Tambi came to know about Murali having huge sum of cash and demanded 20 per cent from the total cash as protection money.
When Murali refused to share,Anand along with his associates on October 18 kidnapped Murali took him to a lodge in KR Puram and tortured him to extort Rs.7 lakh from his family before he was released.
Based on the complaint, the KR Puram police have registered a case of of kidnap,wrongful confinement, extortion and criminal intimidation against Anand and his associates for further investigations.
