A 52-year-old Software engineer from US was arrested by Kempegowda International airport police for misbehaving with a woman passenger while he was flying from Frankfurt to Bengaluru on Monday.
The accused Shankaranarayanan Renganathan,who is a US citizen coming to Tirchi for a family program.
Senior officer told reporters,He was travelling with the victim,who works in a private firm and travelling alone. The duo according to the police exchange greetings and chatted for sometime before going to sleep.
The victim realized that the accused touching her inappropriately and warned him.However when continued to do so,she raised alarm and complained to the cabin crew before changing her seat.
The victim complained to the police as soon as the flight landed in Bengaluru.The police arrested the accused under outraging the modesty and released him on bail.
Sankaranarayanan Renganathan denied the charges stating that it could have been accidental,the police said.
