.I am immensely happy to be inaugurating the 36th LAWASIA Annual Conference.
2.Being a lawyer myself,I consider it a privilege to be a part of this conference.
3.It seems like we have laws, rules, and regulations to oversee just about everything.
4.We don’t always like these rules, since they often mean that someone is telling us what to do,or keeping us from doing what we want.
5.Yet to live in a civil society,we must have some rules to follow.
6.Laws are rules that bind all people living in a community.Laws protect our general safety, and ensure our rights as citizens against abuses by other people, by organizations, and by the government itself.
7.We have laws to help provide for our general safety. They exist at the local, state and national levels.
8.In India, the Constitution is the ultimate source of the law.The Indian Constitution is unique in both spirit and content.
9.Notwithstanding the fact that several features of the constitution have been borrowed from other constitutions from all around the world,it is really a unique piece of work.
10.The original constitution have been considerably changed by the various amendments.
11.The Indian Constitution is not a rigid constitution. It can be amended by the Parliament following a few rules.
12. The Constitution states that India is a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic and republican State.
13. The Objectives of the Constitution is justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
14. Our Government is adhering to the Constitution in letter and Spirit.
15. Forces opposed to the Constitution of India are making attempts to return the country to the ancient era and all citizens must be on their guard.
16. There are some anti Constitutional forces which oppose or deny the constitution.
17. But we are committed to protect our Constitution.
18. Protection of the Constitution is the duty of every citizen, especially the youth must understand the idea of the democracy and the Constitution, and thereby they know the main purpose of the preamble, to lead a life with dignity, freedom and equality.
19. For over fifty years,LAWASIA has operated as a platform to promote the cross-jurisdictional exchange of legal knowledge;as a voice of the legal profession;
20. As legal professionals and representatives of lawyer associations, you must use our unique understanding of the international legal system to fight against human rights violations.
21. Legal professionals can no longer sit idly by while a civilian population in a jurisdiction is mercilessly subjected to such acts of crime and violence.
22. I wish that we can join our hands to reduce the violations of Law and contribute to a peaceful environment.
23. I thank each one of you for providing an opportunity to be here with you all.
