BTP cracked whip on around 30 bike rider and booked under cheating for masking the registration number plates to hoodwink cops and avoid fines

A good Samaritan helped the Vijayanagar traffic police police to catch a 23 year old scooter rider who was masking the registration number plate to avoid penalties through enforcement cameras .

A,city based journalist passing by 1st main of KHB colony noticed the accused identified as Suresh S,had pasted sticker at the backside registration number plate.

Immediately he called the Vijayanagar traffic police station and informed that a bike is parked in main road and the rider has hided the registration number plate with sticker even informed to law and order police also.

Immediately the Basaveshwaranagar cheetah patrolling cops with Vijayanagar traffic ASI,Suresh who was on night rounds rushed to the spot and detained Suresh,23,and seized his scooter for further investigation.

Based on the complaint by ASI,the Basaveshwaranagar police registered a cheating case against him.

Similar incidents occurred in East Division traffic limits who have booked nearly 25 separate cases against motorists masking registration number plates.

Joint CP, Traffic,MN Anucheth,said In a special drive against wheelie as stunt riders and defective number plates and masking number plates with sticker Bengaluru Traffic police personnel across city conducted a massive special drive from past 10 days,and booked 17 wheelie Wonkers,473 cases booked for defective number plates and around 27 persons booked under cheating in Traffic East Division alone for masking their rear side as backside registration number plate with stickers under the supervision of DCP Traffic East,Kuldeep Kumar R Jain.

To avoid penalty and avoid fines from Enforcement cameras they are masking the registration number plates and strictly warns the motorists who are indulged in masking the registration number plates will be booked under cheating case and the drive will be continued further to curb the menace and appeals general public to join hands in curbing this menace and appeals to follow traffic rules .
