KRV President Narayana Gowda among 53 members arrested for violent protest and vandalism 10 cases filed in different stations,Police Commissioner B Dayananda warns KRV activists

he city police have registered as many as 10 cases and arrested 53 people including Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president Narayana Gowda for their involvement in the violent protest to demand Kannada name boards on Wednesday.

City police Commissioner,B.Dayananda said that a total of 53 people have been arrested including Narayana Gowda and other members of the organization involved in violent protest .

They have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.In addition to this the police have detained over 1000 protesters under preventive detention.

Reiterating that violent protest will not be tolerated, Mr. Dayananda said that strict action will be taken against those who disturb the peace any form of protest in the city is not allowed as per the High court order.There is a designated place at freedom park to protest and the city police will allow,he said.

Meanwhile other faction of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike express support to Narayana Gowda and warned the government not to harass KRV Members .

The police are harassing the protesters unnecessarily and canning them and booking cases,sending them to prison.This is unexpected from the government and can not be tolerated,Praveen Shetty, leader of another KRV faction,said .

The police have intensified patrolling in the sensitive areas and gathering details of the KRV members who have come from different parts of the district to protest .

We have taken up adequate security measures to ensure peace,Mr.Dayananda,said.

Meanwhile in the evening 15 members of pro Kannada activist who were arrested by Cubbon Park Police for Vandalism and damaging signage boards in Lavelle road were granted bail by 8th ACMM court and were released on thursday late evening from Central Prison of Parappana Agrahara.
