Now, like other government employees, they too will be covered under the state government’s cashless health insurance. The decision of the state government was approved in Wednesday’s cabinet meeting. At least 50,000 government employees will benefit from this decision of the state government. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had in April announced to bring panchayat employees under health insurance following a petition by government employees’ unions. At present, there are 30,000 employees in panchayats, panchayat samitis and zillaparishads under the state government. Retired employees 20,000. From now on, these 50,000 employees will get the benefit of cashless medical insurance. The recent cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday and there were many new decisions have been taken. New appointments have been made in several departments of the state. Minister ManasBhuiyan informed about the new decision. 427 data entry operators will be appointed in the district office of the Land and Land Reforms Department. North Bengal Medical College Hospital has increased 40 beds in the SNCU for newborns. Besides, 26 new posts have been created in North Bengal Medical College Hospital. Will be recruited there.
