717 booked for drunk and driving by BTP in 10 days after checking 27,280 vehicles to prevent road accidents in view of New Year

Continuing special drive against drunk driving,the traffic police on Saturday night carried suprise checks of 2787 vehicles and booked 80 cases of driving driving drunk.

Joint commissioner of police,traffic,MN Anucheth,said that the drive against drunk driving will continue to prevent road accidents in the year end.

The drive which launched from December 21 to December 30 ,traffic police have checked more than 27,280 vehicles and booked a total of 717 driver/rider who were found drunk while riding/driving.

Prevention of accidents and ensuring safety of road users is one of the

important duties of Traffic Police,Road safety is our priority.In order to prevent road traffic accidents resulting in fatal accidents.

The traffic police are conducting special drive against drunken drivers and riders since last Thursday he added.
