The celebrations across the city went peaceful barring few stray incidents a girl was groped while she was passing through the crowd in brigade road Mg road junction.
A drunk youth found unconscious on the roadside near Electronic
city flyover after being thrashed by a group of men.
The brigade road MG road junction was thousands of visitors and the police had to face tough time to handle the crowd .
Few incidents of mobile thefts have also been reported during the event,The cubbon park and Ashok Nagar.At one point of time,the police resorted to mild canning when the crowd went out of control .
The police rescued a woman who was struck in the crowd and started feeling uneasy.
In Koramangala police found few women passed out on road due to over drinking,women police with the help of ambulance ferried them to the hospital while some of them were taken into the safety island for nursing and care .
As many as 8,000 policemen have been deployed to monitor the law and order situation,City police commissioner B.Dayananda visited the MG road junction to supervise the security arrangements .
“The celebrations across the city,went peaceful and the law and order was under control,except a few stray incidents”, Mr.Dayananda,said .
Police visit orphanage,old age homes and special schools to celebrate new year with inmates .

Expressing his concern and gesture of compassion , City police chief,Mr.Dayananda stopped the customary practice and directed the police officers not to visit him with bouquets to wish on new year.
Instead,Mr.Dayananda asked his team to pool the money they would have spent on flowers and use it to make a difference in the community and direct the funds towards the orphanage and old age homes at the jurisdictional level,a cause close to him.
The police officers organized a visit to the orphanage, bringing not only the financial contribution but also spending time with the children and other inmates .
If everything goes well,it will become an annual tradition, fostering a stronger bond between the police force and the community they served.
All the police officials at the jurisdictional level visited the orphanages,special school and old age homes and shared the sweets and meal with the inmates .
Some officials are also distributed gifts and made donations to inspired a spirit of generosity within the police department.
