Timely action by Whitefield Fire and Emergency service personnel rescued woman and her child in nick of time while attempting to end her life

n a swift action,Whitefield fire and emergency service personnel rescued a 27-year-old woman in the nick of time while she was attempting to end her life along with five-year-old son and giving suicide threats on Wednesday .

Fireman Venkataram along with his colleagues Venkatagowda and Muniraju,broke open the door and pounced on the woman before she could lit a match box after opening the knob of the LPG cylinder.

The personnel dragged the woman and the child out of the apartment and opened the windows and doors of the apartment to let the gas out .

The residents of the apartment clapped and cheered to thanks the personnel for not only rescuing the woman and her child but also prevented a disaster .

The incident occurred at around 8.30 am when all the policemen and fire personnel were busy at the Janaspandana program of chief minister in security duty.

The victim Tamil selvi,37 and her son,Ashwath,Age, 5 had locked the door and shut down windows after a fight with her husband and his family the family was living in Shreenidhi alpines Apartment, in Nagondanahalli.

Even after repeated attempts to get the door open the husband rushed to the fire station and requested Venkataramu in charge of the station to help , explaining the situation.

Sensing danger,the trio rushed to the spot and found the main door was locked from inside, K.Ramakrrishna, station fire officer who was supervising the operation over the phone from the Janaspandana program.

He said The trio soon noticed smell of gas and decided to act quickly.The trio along with the whitefield police who reached the spot with the consent of the husband of the woman,broke open the door and rescued the women before she could lit the matchbox.

The entire incident was caught on Mobile phone which was recording the rescue operation,Ramakrishna, said .

This is the second rescue operation,carried out by the fire men in the last one month.The same team rescued a 15-year-old boy who was attempting to end life after locking the apartment in the multi- storeyed building .

The boy a high school student was intoxicated after having a verbal altercation with his parents and decided to end life.

The team jumped from the balcony from the adjacent apartment in a filmi style,and rescued the boy, recalled Ramakrishna.

The rescued woman was taken to the station for counselling the woman had some suffering from mental stress and need treatment, a senior officer, said .

The rescue operation was appreciated by senior police officials and public.
