A 25-year-old Sales officer with the Hindu Newspaper was killed when a speeding SUV knocked his motorcycle on Coles road in the early hours of Thursday.
The deceased Gopi was heading to work at around 5.45 am when the accused knocked down his bike and sped away.
Passers-by rushed Gopi to Bowring hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
Based on the complaint by Savitha Ravi,mother of Gopi, the Pulakeshinagar traffic police with the help of CCTV footage from in and around track down the accused identified as Mounesh,20,a private firm employee,and arrested him under under death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving for further investigations .
The accused was in a hurry to pick up someone and driving in a rash and negligent manner.Ravi was survived by his mother and sister.
Ravi has joined work an year ago and was supposed to get married in few months.The office and his colleagues mourned his death and held a prayer meeting for the departed soul .
Self accident:Delivery boy killed in road accident after he slipped from his scooter:
In a similar incident,a 32-year-old delivery boy of a e commence company was killed after he slipped from his scooter on Kommaghatta main road on Wednesday night .
The deceased Ramamurthy,resident of Kengeri was returning home from work at around 9.30 pm when the incident occurred .
According to the police,Ramamurthy was over speeding and lost control and slipped on the road and sustained severe head injuries.
Passers-by rushed him to a near-by private hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
The Kengeri traffic police have taken up a case of self accident and further investigating.
Speeding goods vehicle mowed down pedestrian
A 60-year-old pedestrian was killed on the spot when a speeding goods vehicle knocked him down on BB Main road, Vidyashipla upramp in Yelahanka on Wednesday night.
The deceased Siddalingegowda, resident of Jakkur Layout was crossing the road.The police have registered a case against the goods vehicle driver for further investigations.
61-Year-Old scooter rider knocked to death by speeding vehicle :
In another incident,61-year-old scooter rider Venkateshappa was killed when a speeding vehicle knocked him down on Devanahalli main road near Mylan
ahalli on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Venkateshappa, resident of Jala hobli.The Devanahalli traffic police have arrested the driver under death due to negligence.
