he Bengaluru traffic police on tuesday conducted a surprise special drive against school vehicle drivers for drink and drive violation and booked as many as 16 drivers under the influence of alcohol.
A total of 3414 vehicles were checked and 16 drivers were found driving under the influence of alcohol.
Criminal cases have been registered against such drivers and their DL have been sent to RTO for suspension,Joint commissioner of Police,Traffic,MN Anucheth,said .
The drive will be continued to check violations by school bus drivers and other vehicle owners plying in and around schools and colleges.
