Farmer from Odisha turned Drug peddler arrested by City Railway police for smuggling drugs in train and recovered 20.4 kgs of marijuana worth Rs.20 lakhs

City railway police arrested a 27-year-old farmer from Odisha and recovered 20.4 kilograms of Marijuana which he was smuggling in train.

The accused,Kalucharan,resident of Polasara town in Odisha had landed at city railway station and was waiting at platform no.4 along with the three bags to go out,when the alert police team led by VIjay Kumar,PSI, confronted him.

Sensing trouble Kalucharan started giving evasive replies following which his baggage was checked to find 20.4 kilos of Marijuana worth ₹ 20. 4 lakh .

The accused confessed that he had bought Marijuana from tribal in Odisha for a price of ₹ 10,000 per kilo and brought it to Bengaluru to sell it to his contacts.

The accused has been booked under NDPS and taken into custody to ascertain his network,a senior officer told reporters.
