A 26-year-old software engineer has filed a complaint with the Vidhana Soudha police that his childhood friends blackmailed him with private photos and extorted a total of $ 65 from them since one year.
The victim,who worked in IT Firm situated in Ambedkar Veedhi,said that the accused Akshay Kumar friend and his friend Bharath,since 18 years approached him informing that a hacker has accessed his private photos from his phone and blackmailing to put it up on social media if $ 12 lakh is not paid in February last year .
Shocked victim,borrowed loans from his friends and family and paid it to Akshay but he returned two months later with a fresh demand of $ 10 lakh.
Scared victim,borrowed loan and gave it to him.But the demanded continued till the accused extorted a total of $ 65 lakh from him till January 31.
The victim got suspicious when the demand for more money continued,consulted his friends and family before approaching the police.
The Vidhana soudha police have registered a case under section 506 (criminal intimidation) 384 ( extortion) and 420 (cheating) of IPC for further investigation.
