Cantonment Railway Police cracked murder case within 24 hours and arrested construction labour for killing man in drunk brawl

In a swift action the cantonment railway police cracked a case of murder within 24 hours and arrested a 28-year-old construction labourer from Ballary for killing a man over drunken brawl in Kyatsandra railway platform in Tumakuru on Friday.

The accused Sunil Basavaraju,28,had come to Tumakuru siddaganga mutt to pay visit where he had studied high school and also to meet teachers.

After spending sometime in the Mutt,the accused went to a local bar to get drunk where he met Kumaraswamy, 28, from Kudlagi .

The accused got acquainted

and Sunil offered him drinks and snacks.While paying bill, the deceased Kumaraswamy saw Sunil was carrying cash worth Rs. 19,000 and started following him and pestering him to give him some money.

Sunil tried to avoid but Kumaraswamy followed him wherever Sunil went.Irritated by this the duo had a fight at platform No.1 and Sunil pushed Kumaraswamy down on the track and stamped him repeatedly before he collapsed and died.

Based on the complaint, the Cantonment police led by Inspector R Jagadish and team rushed to the spot and analyzed the CCTV footage before zeroing in on Sunil .
