Two part of five members gang arrested by North CEN police deceiving with false promise to get financial schemes of BBMP

The North Division cyber crime police on Tuesday arrested two people part of the five members gang who used to cheat gullible women promising to avail financial schemes from BBMP.

The accused Deepak Kiran,22 from Srinagar and Harsha,Jagadisha,21, from Vidyaranyapura were arrested following a complaint from a woman.

The accused had promised the woman to get her a computer operator job in BBMP and made her to transfer Rs.8,000 online.

Explaining their modus operandi,City police Commissioner,B.Dayananda,said that the accused along with their associates,Bhavana,Bhavani and Sanjay would contact widows and home makers to lure them offering different schemes depending upon their requirement.

The schemes ranging from widow pension,to jobs and vehicle and site loans which they claimed to be offering from BBMP and get the money transferred .

While Deepak and Harsha were arrested three others Bhavana,Bhavani and Sanjay were absconding, efforts are on to track them down.

Investigations revealed that the accused using similar modus operandi cheated as many as 60 people so far and pocketed around Rs.15 lakh.
