he Basavanagudi traffic police managed to crack a hit and run case and arrested a 25-year-old salesman of khadi store through the color of the T-shirt he was wearing .
Senior officer told reporters,the accused Venu Shankarappa,was riding motorcycle in rash and negligent manner,collided with the autorickshaw driver on 1st main Gavipuram extension in Hanumantha Nagar in the wee hours of February 12.
The accused sped away after the autorickshaw driver identified as Ramesh,48,was killed on the spot .
The Basavanagudi traffic police rushed to the spot and conducted a spot inspection.The police gathered a CCTV footage from near-by accident spot and found that the accused was wearing yellow T shirt .
Armed with the piece of evidence the police analyzed around 70 CCTV footages along the direction where the accused had sped away before zeroing in on Venu Shankarappa two days later .
The accused confessed to the police that he was hurrying home and riding in rash and negligent manner crashed into the autorickshaw.
He was not drunk but booked under Hit and run charges along with rash and negligent driving and death due to negligence,Shiva Prakash Devaraju,DCP Traffic South Said.
