If injustice done to state, let us all gather and discuss: Bommai

It will be beneficial to have a fair debate on the ground reality about the funds from the central government to Karnataka or else mixing politics will be detrimental to the state’s interest, said Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address in the State Legislative Assembly here on Thursday,Bommai said the 15th Finance Commission report has been in motion but they were in the complex situation.

Now everything was over as the tenure of the Commission was till 2026.In this situation, going to Delhi to protest was nothing but politicising the matter.

If injustice has been done to the State, then they must sit together and seek funds from the centre.Instead of doing it,talking in the Sheikh Mohammed’s mathematics that the state should have received Rs. 1.87 crore was of no use.

He said the Union Government has announced a grant of Rs 5300 crore in its budget for the Upper Bhadra project and they must discuss how to get that money.

Anyhow the 16th Finance Commission will come soon and they must ensure that injustice was not done to Karnataka.

The opposition party has equal responsibility that of the ruling party in bringing the funds from the central government. Both of them must join hands together to seek justice for the state.
