Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai urged the state government to take action against a police sub-inspector attached to Ramanagar Police Station for filing cases against the advocates in the interest of maintaining law and order of the State.
Speaking on the issue during the zero hour which was initiated by the Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly here on Tuesday, he said a similar incident had happened in Chikmagalur.
The conflict Between the police and the advocates would create problems in the coming days.Emergency was imposed on the country when food was not available in hostel.
Suspending an officer was not like punishing him. There were charges against him.They talk in whole the maintenance of law and order in the State.
The government must answer whether the state law and order was important or the prestige of PSI?.
In Haveri incident,the government suspended circle inspector and sub-inspector before the beginning of the probe and inquired them.A similar step must be taken in this incident also,he added.
