Man posing as prospective client cheated businessman and stolen Solitaire diamond worth Rs.75 lakhs

The Cubbon park police are on the lookout for an man who posing as prospective client stolen a solitaire diamond worth ₹ 75 lakh from a gold show room after hoodwinking the sales staff in a filmi style on Sunday.

The accused entered the busy showroom on Mg road and asked for the solitaire diamond.The sales staff identified as Shibin V M, showed him the diamond for which he checked and asked for similar designed stones .

While the staff was busy getting the other stones , the accused replaced the solitaire with a fake one and left the places.

The incident came to light the next day when the staff checked the stock and found the diamond was fake. They verified the cctv footage and found the man pocketing them.

The staff also checked the other showroom and found that the accused had earlier visited Marathahalli and Kammanahalli showroom asking for the solitaire diamond. Since the staff did not have stock ,the accused returned .

The cubbon park police have registered a case and analyse the cctv footage to identify the white bearded accused.

The police suspect that the accused might have changed the attire and had visited the showroom earlier too to get the details of the precious stones to make a duplicate copy of it .
