Farmer and his son arrested by Rajanakunte police for setting fire to JCB and attacking revenue department officials during Anti-encroachment drive at Shivakote village in Yelahanka

The Rajanakunte police arrested a 63-year-old farmer and his 33-year-old son setting fire to JCB and attacked the revenue department officials during anti encroachment drive at Shivakote village in Yelahanaka taluk on Wednesday .

Based on the complaint filed by Motilal Rathod,village administrative officer,the Rajanakunte police charged the Bachegowda Channarayappa and his son Chetan Bacchewgowda under attempt to murder,criminal intimidation,wrongful restrain and mischief by fire .

The duo who allegedly encroached the government land,prevented the officials who went to clear the encorachyment for the proposed road at survey no 10/7 in Shivakote village for the villagers.

The accused hurled abuses at the officials and threw petrol filed plastic bottles at the JCB before setting it on fire .

The JCB driver jumped to the safety and called the fire control room.

Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and put out the fire before alerting the police.The police rushed to the spot and arrested the duo for further investigations.
