A four-year-old boy who was allegedly tortured by mother and locked up in the house has been rescued by members of Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
The woman identified as Sharin,26,is a single mother, living with the child in a rented house in Girinagar after being separated from husband three years ago.
She used to lock up her son while going out to search for the job.The boy who was found bruises all over his body now under the care of CWC refused to go with mother .
The CWC has summoned the mother for counselling and to take further action.
A neighbour who noticed the boy through the window crying for food,spoke to him before reporting the incident.
The police along with the CWC members rushed to the spot and rescued the baby and booked a case against the mother .
The child rights commission members who counselled the boy said that the boy had bruises all over his body and refused ot go with mother.
The boy is presently under the care of CWC and the committee will be taking a call on the future of the boy, Shashidhar Kosambe,member of the commissioner, said .
