ollowing the trails of a suspect involved in the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast,National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths reached Kalaburagi on Saturday and began searching for clues that could lead to the suspect.
As per the information provided by the sources,the NIA had found the presence of the suspect in Ballari on March 1,the day of the blast.
The NIA later noticed that the suspect had then boarded a non-AC sleeper bus going to Kalaburagi on the same night at 10.15 pm.
Before they arrived in the city,the sleuths asked the local police to take into their possession the footage recorded in the CCTV cameras installed at the Central Bus Stand and Ram Mandir Circle.
The NIA sleuths divided themselves into four teams spread across the city and started searching for the clues at the Railway Station,Bus Stand and other places.
They also got primary information from the conductor and driver of the bus on which the suspect had travelled.
The bus crew informed NIA officers that two passengers who had not reserved tickets travelled in the bus on the night.
They also informed the officers that one of them had alighted from the bus at Ram Mandir Circle and the other at Central Bus Stand in Kalaburagi city early in the morning next day.
The team which is gathering more CCTV footage and clear pictures of the suspects is said to be closing in on the suspect who is on the run.
The probe team earlier questioned four suspected who are part of the suspected Ballari module and presently lodged in the central prison .
Going by the nature of the blast and the explosive material used the NIA officials suspect that the accused is part of the Ballari module who is out and carried the blast on behest of the module .
The officials who are yet to get the any specific leads , are questioned many people including the shop keeper, bus driver and conductor,and auto driver who have noticed the accused while he was travelling in the bus from Ballari to Kalaburagi.
